Using PithHelmet on Safari 1.2

Recommended Posts

Incase you dont know, PithHelmet is a great ad blocker for Safari, but it doesnt work with safari 1.2 yet.

But, it is easy to fix, just open the info.plist file that is in safari.app/Contents, and change

<key>CFBundleVersion</key>

<string>125</string>

to

<key>CFBundleVersion</key>

<string>100</string>

And then PithHelmet will work perfect :p

You might also want to try changing

<key>LSMinimumSystemVersion</key>

<string>10.3.0</string>

to

<key>LSMinimumSystemVersion</key>

<string>10.2.6</string>

To get Safari 1.2 working on Jaguar, but that probably wont work....

Pith Helmet was updated for 1.2 2 days ago.

ROFL, I didnt see that when I looked RIGHT before posting this thread...

Safari must have had it cached or something.
