The 'Link to Windows' option can also be used on older Samsung phones

Samsung this month showed off the latest iteration of its flagship phablet. Alongside a number of other interesting and novel announcements, the company revealed plans for an improved strategic partnership with Microsoft over its phones. This was best exemplified by the addition of a 'Link to Windows' prompt right into the Quick Settings pane of Samsung's Android skin.

Turns out, while the feature was shown for only the Note10 and Note10+, enterprising Samsung fans have figured out a way to make it work for older devices as well, so long as you're running its Android Pie-based OneUI. They did so by taking an APK that enables the functionality from the Note10, and simply sideloading it onto other Samsung smartphones. Of course, you will also need the Your Phone Companion app from the Play Store. You can see one Redditor's guide for enabling the same on his Galaxy S10+ here.

However, it must be noted that this is by no means an official, Samsung-sanctioned thing to do. Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note9 owners have thus far seen success with the above, but owners of other Samsung models may not. Thus, proceed with this workaround at your own risk. And if own a non-Samsung phone, don't even think about it, as attempting to add the 'Link to Windows' option to the Quick Settings pane will brick your phone and require a complete factory reset.
