Apple Card owners get 3% cash back at Walgreens and Duane Reade stores starting tomorrow

Walgreens announced today Apple's decision to collaborate with it and fellow American drugstore chain Duane Reade to come up with a special cashback offer for its Apple Card cardholders. As a result, customers at Walgreens and Duane Reade outlets who opt to pay via Apple Pay using their Apple Cards will receive 3% cash back in the form of Daily Cash. Customers will also receive the same percentage of Daily Cash at the Walgreens app and online store.

The new cashback reward system kicks off from tomorrow onwards. However, it is important to note that this discount does not apply to all purchases made at Walgreens and Duane Reade stores. All items bought using the Apple card must be on the list of eligible items for the 3% cashback bonus, whether they're health and beauty products or medicines and prescriptions.

Joe Hartsig, the chief merchandising officer at Walgreens, commented on partnering up with the Cupertino-based tech giant:

“We know our customers love Apple Pay and they’re looking for convenient ways to shop and pay for their purchases at Walgreens. We’re pleased to offer a higher level of Daily Cash on Apple Card for even better value on daily essentials, medicines and prescriptions.”

Additionally, the popular drugstore franchise Walgreens will also increase the availability of Apple products in 2,600 more of its retail outlets. This means Apple accessories such as Lightning Cables, EarPods and iPhone cases will become more readily available in more Walgreens stores across the U.S.

This isn't the first offer of this kind to be offered by Apple, its Cardholders already receive 3% cash back on purchases from Apple, 2% cash back on purchases made with Apple Pay and 1% Daily Cash on payments made with the physical card.
