Microsoft reveals Flight Simulator Tech Alpha 2 timeline, Feedback Dashboard, and more

Nearing the end of last month, Microsoft showed a preview of the Feature Discovery Series for its upcoming Flight Simulator title. This series is centered around the in-depth exploration of some of the game's features. On the same day, Microsoft Flight Simulator's development roadmap was also updated, notifying fans about what they could expect to see in the coming weeks.

Now, as was stated in the plans for October, the first episode of the Feature Discovery Series has officially been released to all Insiders. A bunch of additional information related to the Tech Alpha release schedule, and more has also been revealed.

To start off, Microsoft finally took the wraps off its new Feedback Dashboard for Flight Simulator. Essentially, it can be used as an area to read daily community discussions and feedback in a summarized form. Moreover, the feedback is also prioritized based on its content. The ordered content in this pipeline is then communicated to Insiders at regular intervals as a "Feedback Snapshot" document which shows the plan of action assigned to various concerns as well. Right now, for example, feedback and resolution steps regarding features like ATC, Seasons, VR, Rotorcraft, SDK, and more, will be found in the document's current version. More information regarding Feedback Snapshots will be provided in the next development update.

As far as the Feature Discovery Series is concerned, episode one, which explores the world of Microsoft Flight Simulator in greater detail, has been released. You can head to the Insider Area to sign up (if you haven't already) and check it out.

Signing up for the Insider program will also give you the chance to experience the Tech Alpha release. Starting October 17, Insider acceptance confirmation communications will begin, and run through the next seven days. Then, finally, on October 24, the release window will open, and access to the relevant build will be provided to confirmed participants. You can fill out the relevant survey in the Insider Area to register for it before recruitment closes on October 15.

As far as the Tech Alpha 2 is concerned, a mid/end November tentative release window has been announced. Recruitment for that is expected to begin near the end of this month, though a final date will be confirmed in the next development roadmap update on October 17. On the same day, the second episode in the Feature Discovery Series, which focuses on the various aspects of the weather system in Microsoft Flight Simulator, will also be released.
