New Monitor

Recommended Posts

I am in the market for a new monitor currently have the Samsung 275t plus.

Looking to upgrade to Atleast 1440p 144hz but keep it at 27 inch.

Currently looking at Asus ROG Swift PG27 or LG 27GL850

Just some of the reviews regarding light bleed don't look that good.

Are there any others I should look at looking to keep it below 900$ Canadian.

First post in a long while but I know neowin has always helped in the past.

Look up some Dell UltraSharp and Samsung models. I am not well versed in ASUS or LG, sorry.

Do you need UltraWide, or...

Asus ROG Swift PG27

I have the PG27QR and it's a great monitor but I would only recommend if you also want g-sync, which you didn't mention. That adds quite a bit more to the price.

Otherwise there are other 1440p, 144hz monitors without g-sync for much cheaper.

I have this https://amzn.to/2qqN2Cn because it was in a sale it does everything you want and is GSync too, if you don't mind a TN panel and fiddling with the colors to make them look nicer, there's plenty of advice online for that 😛 Plus it has a USB 3.1 hub with four ports that is handy too.

The freesync version is cheaper https://amzn.to/31qFV9T

Having gsync would be nice. Also I have a GTX 1070

A 1070 is not good enough for 2k144Hz. I have one and you can believe me it simply is not. If you don't intend to upgrade the GPU you should stick with 1080p144Hz.
