patseguin Global Moderator Posted November 23, 2019 Global Moderator Share Posted November 23, 2019 I installed KDE Neon after many years of not using lInux, just for something to play with. I installed to an external drive and it works great. In my infinite wisdom, I'd forgotten that it would install grub. It's fine, but it's on my external drive plus it defaults to Linux, which makes Windows updates a pain since it has to reboot several times. Plus without the drive plugged in, I cannot boot into Windows. Can I move grub to my main system drive or at least configure it to default to Windows? Mindovermaster Moderator Posted March 31, 2020 Moderator Share Posted March 31, 2020 You can add your Windows partition into grub. You can only see it from Linux's end, as Windows doesn't read EXT3/EXT4. https://www.trishtech.com/2017/09/quickly-add-windows-10-to-grub-menu-after-installing-ubuntu/
