Dashel
What is the best filesystem to use for OS X that will be running classic on one partition? OS 9 utility gives option of HSF+/UFS while OS X gives options of Unix and Mac Journelling. OS 9 must be installed first correct (so I have to use its partition utility)? aristotle-dude
Unix is UFS and Mac with Journaling is HSF+ with Journaling. I would recommend using the Mac option instead of UFS if you are going to be using any older Classic programs because not all of them work with UFS properly. As for your question about partition utilities... is this an older mac with support for OS 9 booting? If so, then yes you would install OS 9 first and then install OS X next. Dashel
Thanks. Just out of curiosity, how is the classic installation handled on Macs that can no longer boot into 9? Edit - Nevermind. As easy as dragging and dropping the 9.2 System Folder onto the OS X partition. w00t Edited February 6, 2004 by Dashel
