Realme's upcoming Buds Air to support Qi wireless charging

Last week, Realme tweeted a blurry image of earbuds in a case heralding the arrival of the company's first-ever true wireless earphones on its official Twitter page. This was followed by more images of the Chinese smartphone maker's chief executives sporting the upcoming Realme Buds Air, revealing the three colours they will be available in - black, white, and yellow.

Since then, Realme has been teasing its upcoming true wireless earbuds on Twitter pretty frequently, offering looks at their form factor and design. The Buds Air have been assigned a launch date and time of December 17, 2019, at 12:30 PM.

Today CEO Madhav Sheth revealed further information about Realme's true wireless earphones, announcing that the Buds Air will support Qi-standard wireless charging. This will make them the first Realme product to support wireless charging - including the brand's smartphones.

The Realme Buds Air are set to be revealed alongside Realme's mid-range flagship smartphone, the Realme X2, at a launch event in New Delhi, India, on Tuesday next week.

Detailed technical specifications and price details concerning the Realme Buds Air are sparse at the moment. All we know is that the earbuds will feature a 12mm bass boost driver, support Qi charging and use Bluetooth 5.0.

Customers who purchase one of five Realme devices between now and December 16 are entitled to receive a ₹400 discount voucher for the Buds Air. Alternatively, the same coupon may be acquired by following the 'notify & share' method provided on Realme's website.
