Complete OS X Overhaul!?!?

Recommended Posts

hey guys, I've seen a lot of posts about overhauling the WINdows XP GUI to match OS X. I am wondering if maybe someone would be nice enough to post a sort of guide witht he list of files needed and maybe links to where to get what is needed... thanks a ton!

Try using a combination of WindowBlinds, Objectbar and DesktopX. There are some StyleXp themes that resemble OSX window decorations, but they are not very flexible and IMO not as accurate as the WB skins. Be aware tho that the above apps will cost you some money. (WB,OB & DX) Good Luck.

i dont understand why people like toxikk keep coming into the OSX threads and saying negative things...if you dont like that people do this, fine, it just makes more sense to keep away from the threads though

I can't understand it either.. i mean i asked a simple question.. and if i wanted the functionality of OS X i would go buy one, but I am just playing around with Windows... people just want to argue though.. oh well thanks guys

I'm all for that Twiggy. I love the look of the OSX interface. I have my win XP box looking like it to an extent. But I would never buy an apple comp over a windows PC. I'm a gamer. I love to customize my PC as well. With Apple's limited software and proprietary hardware, I just can't have fun. But the OS X interface is sexy, heh heh. If I knew how to help you, I would.

twiggy: i would recommend OSXP for windowblinds. it's extrememly customizable and looks great. if you don't want to pay for windowblinds check out the aquaXP theme used in combination w/styleXP or a hacked uxtheme.dll. aquaXP has just everythign you would want w/wallpapers, icons, cursors, sounds, etc. very very nice.

Toxikk, it is the simple fact, that it looks better than Windows. I dont really like the whole emulation, but rather just the MSStyles, Icons, and Winamp Themes at the most.

I don't understand why there needs to be 50+ osx themes. I guess its just personal choice, but I gotta agree, if I wanted OSX I'd get me a purty little Imac.

AquaSoft is undergoing a major redesign and change-up in how we handle downloads at the moment, so keep checking with us over the next few weeks.

Once we are relaunched you will be able to find ALL of the current Aqua/OSX skins available for Windows, including updates to unique Aqua applications we've written for Windows (Finder, AquaBrowser, etc...).

We'll have everything nice, neat and tidy real soon.

ha...

oh wow. that was good....

two (very evil) words: Visual Basic :D

Actually, I shouldn't talk. Me and my friend are working diligently on a Dock for XP that TOTALLY emulates it. We've got most of the math and design for the animations worked out. We've just gotta get the icons of the currently running programs and draw those on screen. It should look pretty good when it's done.

The biggest thing we're gonna have to figure out is the genie effect. That may be in a later version (if at all). But basically it looks like Aqua Dock has some competition =D
