isus
k... less than 20% say "macintosh"... so my school has these mobile labs, that have airport, network printers, and like 30 ibooks on one little cart... you plug it into the wall, you get ethernet and power. so my teacher (who is one of those big conspiracy theory guys... "yea, the government monitors all internet communication and all your phone calls") has this mobile lab in our physics class, and he's letting us play on them. so one of the less intelligent members of our class, presses the power button, but the screen doesn't turn on IMMEDIATELY, and instead of being patient, she tells him that the computer isn't turning on. (it was muted, so there was no startup ding). this girl is a follower of the teacher, and believes that someone actually cares enough about her to be monitoring all her cell phone calls, and she can hear them listening and etc. anyway, the teacher said "yea, well it won't turn on because it's a crap-intosh." and i heard it and thought "wow, you're an idiot". either way, our school system DOES still use os9, so i guess he is at least justified in calling it crap, but he needs to find a better way to try to insult a computer. the evn show
I usually say macintosh if I'm refering specifically to the computer. I'll use Mac. If I'm talking with people who are familar with macintosh systems: unless I'm talking about the OS. When talking about x86 systems I usually try to be as specific as I can: x86 system (any amd/intel/etc) system Wintel: an x86 running windows (I know it's not technically 100% accurate) linux/x86 - if for whatever reason I'm addressing something specific to intel Windows on AMD: if I'm talking about 3DNow or the availability of DVD-Player software for a 64bit system. BTallack
When I was young and naive, I used to call them "Macintrash" Now that I'm considering selling my desktop PC and buying a G5 to go along with my Powerbook G4, I guess I'm singing a different tune. I blame it on the fact that I fix Wintel machines all day. I want to get away from them.
