George P Global Moderator Posted July 23, 2020 Author Global Moderator Share Posted July 23, 2020 At some point with all the delays of big new movies, and theaters trying to open but not having anything new to show. It's going to be a chicken and egg situation. How many theaters are going to flat out go out of business and close for good by the time studios decide to put their delayed movies out? George P Global Moderator Posted August 22, 2020 Author Global Moderator Share Posted August 22, 2020 I think I saw a tweet yesterday saying the early reviews are all over the place with it, guess I'll find out when the time comes.

I saw that too, I guess all trailers will have this for a while. That's odd, I just checked IMDB and Metacritic and the reviews seem to be quite favourable. Not that I would pay them much attention, I've been looking forward to this film for a while now. I'll be watching it, regardless.
+Warwagon MVC Posted December 13, 2020 MVC Share Posted December 13, 2020 Watched it last night. Meh. Didn't dig it. I'd give it a 3 out of 5. I didn't feel for any of characters. They all could have died for all I care. It was overly confusing. I didn't like the lead man. It feels like they wanted Idris Elba but couldn't get him. And towards the end it REALLY feels like they wanted Tom Hardy, so they got a pretty good Lookalike.
George P Global Moderator Posted December 14, 2020 Author Global Moderator Share Posted December 14, 2020 It really is more spectical over substance, just cool set piece and a interesting premise but the plot only plays with a specific period of it. I think this would've fit better as a TV series but the budget would be crazy for it. It's like the movie is only part 1 of a larger story. techbeck
Watched like 45min and turned it off. Could not get into it and was confusing. While reading online, seems like a lot of people were confused with what was going on. Did not really explain things very well IMO. Which was a shame since the previews made it look good. Nick H. Supervisor Posted December 14, 2020 Supervisor Share Posted December 14, 2020 That hurt my head. I quite liked Robet Pattinson's character. I liked the arc and the chat they had towards the end: Spoiler The Protagonist: Hey you never did tell me who recruited you, Neil. Neil: Haven't you guessed by now? You did! Only not when you thought. You have a future in the past. Years ago for me, years from now for you. The Protagonist: You've known me for years? Neil: For me, I think this is the end of a beautiful friendship. The Protagonist: But for me it's just the beginning? Neil: We get up to some stuff. You're gonna love it. You'll see. This whole operation is a temporal pincer. The Protagonist: Whose? Neil: Yours! You're only half way there. I'll see you in the beginning, friend. I've got some questions to think about. I'm sure they've been answered somewhere around the net, I'll have a look.

Spoiler The confusing bit for some is the part you quoted, more or less. The movie only covers one part of the whole characters arc, like this was meant to be 2 movies , or the first part of a book. That's why I posted up above that it probably would've worked better as a tv series but no ones going to spend the money it needs to make it one. If people want to better understand it, the "story" is a Palindrome, The first half goes one way, the second the other. And they both share the same middle part, for those who've seen it, you know the part I'm talking about.
McCordRm
I finally got around to watching this. I agree with the "Meh" sentiment. This one really didn't do it for me. I've watched Inception like 3 or 4 times, and will probably watch it again at some point. But this? I won't bother.

I was soooooooooooo close to turning it once. But decided to stick with it. I was even watching it on a 7.1 surround sound system (the photo still had my old sound system) on a 140 inch screen and still wanted to turn it off.
