kiddingguy
I'm thinking on selling my desktop. I have a new gaming notebook now, far better specs than my 2009 desktop. I purchased the main components (CPU/mobo in 2009). What do you guys think I can realistically ask for this on sites like ebay (in dollars or euro)? Specs (in sig), but here they are: Asus P6X58D Premium Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.66 GHz (overclocked to 3.4GHz) MSI NVIDIA GTX 760 GAMING Antec Powersupply Signature 850W, Modular 24 GB RAM (Corsair Vengeance 6x4 GB DDR3 SDRAM @ 1600 MHz) Asus Xonar D2/PM soundcard 3x ASUS DVD-(re)writers SilverStone Midi Tower FT01B-W black
Jim K Global Moderator Posted January 20, 2020 Global Moderator Share Posted January 20, 2020 Probably not much. Those CPUs can be had for cheap ... same for the GPU and X58 platform. If selling on ebay ... I would probably ditch the case (due to shipping) and sell the CPU, mobo, RAM, GPU, sound card as a package. Maybe do a bid listing with a reserve of maybe like $100 - $125. If selling outright to someone where you can hand deliver ... maybe $125-$150 for everything. ....or donate. Just my opinion.
ThaCrip
Given what Jim K said, I would probably just keep it and use it for a backup computer. maybe put Linux Mint on it and use it for a secure internet machine for doing anything sensitive online.
