As part of Amazon's Deal of the Day offerings, the Fire HD 8 tablet has been discounted down 38% off to just $49.99 (normally $79.99) for the 16GB model. The 32GB model also received a slightly lesser discount of 36% off, bringing its price down to just $69.99 saving $40 off the normal price.
As a reminder, the Fire HD 8 which launched in the fall of 2018 is available in Black, Marine Blue, Punch Red, or Canary Yellow, includes a 1.3GHz quad-core ARM processor, along with 1.5GB RAM, and either 16GB or 32GB of onboard storage (expandable for up to 400 GB with microSD). It also has Dolby Atmos for a premium audio experience and a 1280x800 display.
There's also a feature called Show Mode, which pretty much turns the tablet into an Echo Show. It will show you news, weather, camera feeds, and so on. The big difference now is that you previously either had to have the screen on or have the device plugged in to access Alexa features like that and now you don't.
The Fire HD 8 also comes standard with a 90-day limited warranty but an optional one or two years can be purchased separately upon check out. This deal is also for the "Special Offers" variant which shows ads on the lock screen, but if you spend an extra $15 you can get the ad-free version.
