Remedy Entertainment, the developer behind massively popular third-person experiences like Max Payne, Alan Wake, and Control, has announced that it has signed a new publishing deal that would fund two unannounced games being developed at the studio.
This "major publisher" isn't named in the announcement, but it isn't a console maker. Although some recent rumors had said Remedy would be making a Sony exclusive game, both of these new projects are to be multi-platform titles heading to PC as well as the upcoming next-generation consoles from Microsoft and Sony. 505 Games is perhaps this mystery publisher, as it partnered with the studio for Control - named Project 7 back then - in 2017.
One of these projects is a AAA title that's in pre-production at the studio, while the second is a "smaller-scale project." Both games are situated in the same franchise and will be using the studio's in-house Northlight engine, which powered both Quantum Break and Control. No other information about these games has been revealed just yet. They could be related to Control or be set in an entirely new universe. Though there is always a chance that Alan Wake may be returning.
Remedy is currently working on DLC for Control. The first of which, The Foundation, is landing today for PC via the Epic Games Store and PlayStation 4, with an Xbox One release happening in June.
