DeleteMePlease
When i travel back to Hong Kong i am thinkin of buying a powerbook and Ipod, i can save around ?600 on the powerbook on the basic model and for the price of the basic one i can but the 17in lol but the warrenty is my concern. If i buy a powerbook and it breaks down in the UK will i have to send it back to Hong Kong apple or UK apple support?
tgumbel
I think Apple would take care of you whereever you are. They would most likely just send a box to your location and you would ship it back to the nearest repair location. I don't think it matters where you buy it. Max Veteran Posted February 8, 2004 Veteran Share Posted February 8, 2004 Make sure customs don't charge you VAT on the way back :)
Pilsbury
Take a (cheap, disposable) laptop out with you and make sure you get customs to agree you've brought one with you... Then dump it and bring the PowerBook out... No VAT! I've got an iBook I bought in the US. It's worthy noting that although the PSU works fine, you need a new mains lead...
