Elon Musk tweet wipes $14bn off Tesla's value

"Tesla stock price too high imo," he said.

"In 2018, a tweet about Tesla's future on the New York stock market led to regulators fining him $20m and agreeing to have all further posts on the platform pre-screened by lawyers."

Don't think he consulted with his attorney on this one lmao.

Or, it could be that he'd done a cost-benefit analysis before he posted that and figured how much he could make by short-sellng his stock and pricing in paying another fine.

Hello,

I seem to recall that Elon Musk doing something similar in the past when he found on speculators were short-selling Tesla's stock.  I am not sure why he would do something to decrease the stock's value, but it could have been something similar.

Yep, doing that seems entirely counter-intuitive.

Maybe he's testing the SEC how much he can get away with, and other shareholders' patience.

Puppet? I honestly don't understand the hate for this guy.

Let's see... he's trying to improve traffic with his tunnel idea, he's building some badass automobiles,

he's got Solar Power/Battery Backup going for home owners, he's trying to help paralyzed people

walk again, he's rolling out satellites to make the Internet accessible everywhere on Earth, and he

just put Astronauts into Space. But sure... screw this guy.

  • Thanks 1
