What ever happened to these !? Could they have saved 'Modern UI' ???

Hello,

 

From what I recall, they were a part of Windows 8 and Windows Phone Modern (née Metro) apps, but had been gradually discontinued as Windows 10 has shifted to its next UI to a more Android-like experience with Windows 10 X.

yeah I remember these being shown off at one of the BUILD conferences; I never saw them in any of the production or insider builds though so I guess they gave up similar to the tabbed explorer or something and moved on to other ideas.
