MR_Candyman
Well, Today was the first day I thought I'd play some .wav files in linux (they're kinda important for me to be able to play...and record too...) but I couldn't...alsaplayer said it would, it didn't...wavplay, libsndfile didn't...I have no clue why they're not...although it might be due to the fact I require alsa in use (which would explain the last 2) but alsaplayer said it would play wav files... Anybody know how to get it working? running slackware 9.1 fully updated (2.4.22 kernel still), sound blaster audigy platinum
patch-rustem
Is it just .wav files or is alsa notworking at all at all? You might just need to configure alsa. su alsaconf then turn up the volume with on alsamixer.
MR_Candyman
no, alsa's working perfectly for everything else (from video, mp3, ogg, ect.) it's just .wav files that aren't playing ok, guess I didn't try enough .wav files...some of them will play...must be different encoding Edited February 9, 2004 by MR_Candyman
MrStaticVoid
Some cards can only accept certain...hmm...watchamacallit...frequency ranges (?). Before I got a Live 5.1, I had an Extigy (USB) and it only took 48 KHz signals. So I always had to upmix em.
