pjak
I've been wanting to buy a new game for pc, but which one? your option is welcome. games I have recently played (and my brief thoughts). - splinter cell (fully enjoyed, only game I replayed multiple times) - mafia (fun but difficult at times) - halo (great graphics, story was OK, but repetition was boring) - max payne 2 (great game, but way too short) - midnight club 2 (fun game, but when finished, its finished) - grand theft auto: vice city (boring game, i don't see the appeal) - zoo tycoon (only newish game, that runs on my laptop, and its fun too) please recommend a game, preferable a newly released title and not a online only one. thanks in advance. Laughing-Man
If you are looking for a game that is awesome, takes some time to beat, and has a ton of replay value then I suggest you try War Craft III: Reign of Chaos and its add-on Frozen Throne. One of the last good games I have played in awhile, because the latest ones I have been playing are craptacular. No one lately has been making good games like they used to in the good old days. ;)

My suggestion is keep saving your pennies for another couple of months (well, at least until the northern hemisphere summer). Lots of big titles are keyed to come out... including S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Half Life 2, possibly Doom III, Battlefield Vietnam, Far Cry, UT2004......and I forgot the rest. I also recommend Deus Ex: Invisible War, despite what everyone says against it.
fobban
I would recommend Call of Duty. Awesome singleplayer mode (might be a bit short tho, but not compared to Max Payne 2). The multiplayer mode rox too :)
nazgul
I would suggest The Simpsons Hit & Run, because everyone likes the simpsons. Right? :yes Actually that WAS a pretty fun game... Vodun
Vietcong: Purple Haze You get the original VC with the expansion Fist Alpha. Untill BF Vietnam it cant be beat for jungle warfare. Really atmospheric battles. But if you want instant action it's not for you. If you however like the prospect of sneaking around in a jungle, then all of a sudden you stumble onto a VC patroll and ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE WITH AIRSTRIKES/MORTARFIRE AND BULLETS FLYING then VC is great. Only game that has had me (online) cowering behind a rock and not wanting to move.
mattmatik
I also recommend WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos and Frozen Throne. That's the first strategy game that has ever appealed to me and had me addicted for a couple months. It's because of that game I also got hooked onto Rise of Nations, which inhibited my time to try out Vice City (which I'm now at it's mercy). DirtyLarry Veteran Posted February 9, 2004 Veteran Share Posted February 9, 2004 My recommendations are pretty much along the same lines as everyone else here 1) Call Of Duty - a must play for FPS's, Game Of the Year for 2003 pretty much 2) Prince Of Persia - a must play for Action Adventure games 3) The Simpson's Hit N Run - the most fun I have had playing a game in awhile. just started playing it recently and still am, kicking myself in the ass for having it for so long and just installing and playing. It is definitely fun, and who doesn't like the Simpsons just like said above? 4) Need For Speed Underground - as far as driving games go top notch. Not realistic at all (meaning it is not a simulation game) but damn fun 5) Chaser - A slightly older, not to highly regarded FPS. Game play is a little buggy at times, and I will admit not the best for the genre by any means, but the graphics, especially in higher levels, are some of the best I have ever seen in my opinion (was recommended to me on these same forums awhile back). And then like Chode said above I also say wait until March. Get one or two games maybe to hold yourself content until then, but then strap yourself in for the ride because a bunch of damn good games are coming, and they wont stop coming pretty much for the rest of the year! FearMeAll
Everybody's forgetting Beyond Good and Evil!! Fantastic game! Plays in some ways like zelda only with much better graphics, more solid controls, more engaging story, etc.. It get's a 9 out of 10 rating at most gaming sites. The music is great for it too. still playing it now in fact, and I love it.
MegaManXcalibur
I'm going to say try out Tron 2.0. It's not a new release but it's only a year old and if you ask me it was the best game of 2003. Also since you enjoyed Splinter Cell may I suggest trying one of the Hitman games, they are stealth based games similar in the fashion to Splinter Cell (although you can play the mass murdered, you can do the sneak around a bit kill a bit, it's completly open ended).
