Zanatar
Ok, I know you asked for recommendations on newly released games. But I noticed you said that you really enjoyed Splinter Cell. Which means you enjoy the idea of Sneaking around avoiding guards instead of killing. Well there is only one other game series that does that well. If you haven't already, go and do your best to find the game: Thief: The Dark project and Thief 2. They are old games, yes, but far from ugly (Quake 2 engine). So while it`s not today's graphics, they are probably two of the best games in that sneaking/avoiding combat category. Another great sneaking game, and alot more recent, would be Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance. All three of those will give you very similar experiences to Splinter Cell. pjak
thanks all for your recommendations! I've counted 25 in all (not counting "Half Life 2" and "Duke Nukem Forever", i would have died of boredom before they are released ;) ). I am not a big fan of war type games, so I'll put "Call of Duty" (and similar) on the back burner (so to speak) for now. Reason I put the list of recently played games was try something different, and not go for similar games (sorry for not pointing this out earlier). for now anyway, I am inclined to go with "The Simpsons: Hit & Run" (don't ask why, it just sounds fun, kinda stupid), but I may choose from the others later. I was thinking about "Enter the Matrix" before posting, as I watched the first two matrix movies (last xmas) and was interested in finding out more (kinda why they marketed and released the way they did), but the square tyres business has put me off for now... maybe I just choose the cheapest!! :p Edited February 11, 2004 by pjak
Scribbller
You might want to try a few RPG games from Interplay Entertainment which includes Never Winter Nights, Bauldergates, Ice Windale and Lion Heart or there is a very good new RPG game known as Spell Force from jowood but you will need a powerfull computer for that.
