Didn't know that Samsung phones have ads in it. I was thinking in getting one before but now I will skip it forever.

Ads are taking over Samsung phones

Advertising revenue in your phone is far greater than the price you pay for it.

"Get Used to it" *Sigh*

there's been a couple articles on the front page the past month or so about Samsung adding ads; they're only supposed to be on the cheaper phones though but I wouldn't doubt Samsung to try and sneak them onto higher end devices.

I have a Samsung watch and can confirm that the apps are full of ads, despite having Adguard installed on my phone.

Hello there! You're back? goodtimes.jpeg 😛

Also yes although I haven't seen any ads on my Note9 yet (maybe because I'm in Europe?) I read the OPs link which is more of an editorial anyway, and I can't really understand why Samsung is doing this, at least Amazon makes it clear you can buy one of their products cheap if you are okay with lockscreen ads and native in app ads!

Saw @remixedcaton the feed and thought the same thing. Always nice to see old members returning.

Yeah this is just down right poor behaviour from Samsung. Thankfully, I don't use many of Samsung's apps so haven't noticed it. If I start getting push notifications, I'm ditching it.

I was for a game. Also had constant app store selections for a week. Ugh. It kinda stopped.... for now at least. Was very annoying and I was expecting 2 text messages and it kept making me anxious.. ugh.

Yeah saw the FPN article about Samsung working on ads a couple months back saying they would only be on low end phones probably in India and knew that was a farse from the beginning. Knew Samsung would try to sneak them onto the higher end phones at some point. They'll probably come out and say it's a glitch/accident and then remove them but I'm not buying it. They're probably testing the waters to see how much people complain.

btw welcome back @remixedcat 🙂 we've been trying to clean things up around here lately to make things friendlier again (outside of the politics area as politics will never be a friendly subject) so I hope that's starting to be noticeable as you look around 🙂
