When I open my home page of google chrome it looks like the following:

But when i click on new tab option i see this

How do I set up: OPEN NEW TAB so it looks identical to my home page? In other words, without the customize in the bottom right corner. I want it to show weather info instead.

Thx

In actuality, that is not the Google Search Page. The actual Google page (at https://www.google.com) does not have that, and there is no text in the search box.  Make sure that your home page is set to a specific page, that is, https://www.google.com.

Go to Settings and on the main page scroll to the section that looks like this:

By default, the home page for Chrome is not Google.com, it is the New Tab page which is what your screenshot is.  Instead, select the option 'Open a specific page or set of pages, then enter the google.com URL into the line.

From what I can tell, without an addon, there is no option for altering or modifying what opens when you create a new tab.  Don't you love the richness of Google's products?
