UK: Report reveals the best mobile and broadband providers

A new report from the UK's digital regulator, Ofcom, has found which mobile and broadband providers are the most and least preferred among the public.

The mobile company with the highest satisfaction ratings was Tesco Mobile which scored 97% on ‘satisfaction with overall service', 92% on ‘satisfaction with reception or signal strength', and 97% on ‘satisfaction with value for money’. Tesco Mobile scored above average in all these categories.

Three was rated as the worst for customer satisfaction scoring 89% on ‘satisfaction with overall service’, 75% on ‘satisfaction with reception or signal strength’, and 87% on ‘satisfaction with value for money’. Three was only in line with the average on the last category and the rest were below average.

In terms of broadband providers, Plusnet received the best rating scoring above average (93%) on ‘satisfaction with overall service’ and in line with the average for 'reliability of service' (85%) and 'speed of service' (82%).

The worst broadband provider was TalkTalk, scoring below average for 'overall service' (78%) and 'reliability of service' (75%). Only in the ‘speed of service’ did it get an average score of 76%.

Ofcom also brought attention to Virgin Media saying its customers had to wait longest to get calls answered and were less likely to be satisfied with the handling of their complaint.
