Samsung rolls out new camera and security improvements to the Galaxy S20 Ultra in Germany

Samsung is now rolling out a new update to the Galaxy S20 Ultra that improves the phone's camera performance and security. The release marks the latest update for the flagship model meant to enhance its camera after Samsung promised earlier this year to resolve issues with the S20 Ultra's camera.

The update is available in Germany as of this time and could be arriving for other European countries soon. It comes in at 356.34MB with firmware version G988BXXU4BTIB. It's scant on details, however, with the changelog noting only the security and camera improvements.

That said, the update marks an ongoing work by the South Korean company to further improve the camera experience of the phone, which was initially panned by reviewers for its poor autofocus performance, aggressive skin smoothening, and image processing. The autofocus issue, in particular, has been addressed in previous updates, such as when Samsung released the March software update for the S20 series.

In addition to the new camera improvements, the S20 Ultra has received the September 2020 security patch, which started hitting the S20 series a few days ago in many European markets. While there's no word yet on the same update for the Galaxy S20 and S20+, it could be arriving soon.
