If only people can stop pushing things like "Linux is not a viable operating system" when we are one who is mostly used on the whole tech world... (Yes, Android is based on a Linux kernel...)
And yes, if we speak about Linux Distros, some are easy to use others not...
Stop being vague, focus on the details. World can only be better like this...

VMware Workstation Pro and Fusion get snapshot and security fixes by Taras Buria
VMware has released updates for Workstation Pro on Windows and Linux and Fusion on macOS. The latest releases of Broadcom-owned hypervisors address security issues and several issues with network adapters and the snapshot feature.
If you use VMware Workstation Pro on Windows or Linux, you can update to version 17.6.4, which resolves four critical security vulnerabilities: CVE-2025-41236, CVE-2025-41237, CVE-2025-41238, and CVE-2025-41239. Also, there is a patch for CVE-2025-2884 with the moderate severity range.
The update also addresses a bug with the snapshots feature:
VMware warns that version 17.6.4 has three known bugs. One breaks the network connection when installing Windows 11 (switch network adapter from NAT to Bridged to mitigate it), the multi-monitor feature does not work correctly in specific scenarios (no workarounds), and hardware acceleration fails when using an Intel GPU on a Linux host. The latter can be fixed by adding the following configuration property and value: mks.vk.gpuHeapSizeMB = "0"
VMware Fusion 13.6.4 received the same security patches, plus two bug fixes: one for the missing internet connection in NAT mode and one for failures when uploading a virtual machine from VMware Fusion to an ESXi host.
Full release notes for VMware Workstation Pro 17.6.4 are available here, and for VMware Fusion 13.6.4 here. Note that VMware's update tools are currently broken. As such, users cannot update apps using built-in methods. To get to the latest version, you will have to log in to your Broadcom account and download installation files from the downloads section. You can also download VMware Workstation Pro from Neowin's software page.
As a reminder, VMware Workstation Pro and Fusion are available for free for non-commercial use.
The Linux Mint developers have put out their monthly status update to outline their work in recent weeks. Over the course of June, Linux Mint developers were primarily focused on Linux Mint 22.2 with the beta release expected soon.
A beta release of Linux Mint 22.2 is expected soon for this desktop Linux distribution built off Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. Linux Mint 22.2 will be pulling in an updated Linux kernel for its Hardware Enablement "HWE" stack, fingerprint authentication should be all squared away, Linux Mint theme updates, accent color support, improved libAdwaita compatibility, and other changes. The Cinnamon desktop edition of Linux Mint 22.2 should also be enjoying input method and keyboard layout compatibility with Wayland.
The beta release of Linux Mint 22.2 will likely be out in late July or early August.
Linux Mint developers also noted their attention will be shifting to Linux Mint Debian Edition 7 (LMDE 7) following the Linux Mint 22.2 stable release. Linux Mint Debian Edition 7 will be based on the upcoming Debian 13.0 release as opposed to using Ubuntu 24.04 LTS as its package base. With Debian 13.0 stable not even out yet, don't expect LMDE 7 until well later into the year.
More details on the approaching Linux Mint 22.2 and Linux Mint Debian Edition 7 after that via the LinuxMint.com blog.

I and a friend said this YEARS ago. We were right.
