kiddingguy Share Posted October 9, 2020 It's always nice to look at some new hardware... 😊 (although I'd rather keep my money) I'm looking for a decent business notebook. Nothing too fancy like heavy video-editing or photoshopping, gaming etc, And affordable, max. 700-750 EUR. Just some MS Office, mailing, internet, OneDrive... basic stuff like that, maybe a little Photoshop Elements for simple photo editing. I came across the 'Asus VivoBook M712DA-AU069T'. Is this a good one? Is 8 GB sufficient? Specs are: AMD Ryzen 7 3700U Radeon RX Vega 10 17,3" 1920x1080 (Full HD) 8 GB RAM 1,256 TB (256GB SSD & 1TB 5400 RPM) Thanks for helping me pick the right one

Took me about 3 seconds to find this one and its with a Ryzen 7. https://www.laptopmag.com/reviews/acer-swift-3-2020-amd "Business" doesn't mean he wants a business priced machine. Most of the online tools I use (for online marketing purposes) are cloud-based, so I only further need a decent browser And a "decent" brand, like Asus, MSI, HP (Dell?!) or alike. I'm note really fond of Acer though.... 1 Share

I've had a couple of Dell laptops over the years (in fact I'm writing this on a Dell laptop) and I can't say I've had any major issues. My sister had an Acer laptop years ago and that seemed to work fine as well. But I've had some bad experiences with HP laptops that never seemed to last long with my friend. I realised that was partly his fault though, not HP's. My point is, you're always going to be able to find horror stories. Just get a brand that you are comfortable with. So in this case, we can rule out Acer being an option I guess. For the purposes that you've described, 8GB RAM should be fine. I can't comment on the processor though, as I know squat about them.
