Razer's refreshed Blade Stealth 13 brings 28W Tiger Lake chips and an OLED display option

Back in April, Razer refreshed the Blade Stealth 13 with a 120Hz high refresh rate screen and with up to a 25W 10th-gen Intel Ice Lake processor, calling the laptop the “world’s first gaming ultrabook”. Today, at its first-ever RazerCon event, the company announced updates to the device, now bringing a 28W 11th-gen Tiger Lake Core i7 processor and an OLED display option for creatives.

The refresh mostly has to do with the processor and the display, with the company now offering the “gaming ultrabook” with a Core i7-1165G7, the penultimate SKU in the 11th-gen Tiger Lake family that brings base clock speeds of 2.8Ghz and turbo boost clocks of 4.7GHz. This is a sizeable improvement over the predecessor’s 10th-gen Ice Lake 10nm chips with lower clocks and a 25W TDP.

As for the display, the company is moving away with the 4K UHD touchscreen option and is now offering a Full HD 60Hz OLED touch panel that boasts of 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, which is aimed at creative professionals. For gamers, however, the Full HD 120Hz matte display is still on offer.

In addition to the changes to the internals, the 13.3-inch laptop now comes with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, providing users with complete Thunderbolt capabilities like 40Gb/s data transfer speeds, dual 4K display support, and more as standard. The Type-A ports are being carried over as is. Lastly, the company has also improved the audio capabilities as it now comes with four speakers with “THX Spatial Audio” and four array mics.

Other specifications on the Blade Stealth 13 remain unchanged, meaning that the device carries over the 16GB dual-channel RAM, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q GPU – now with 4GB of GDDR6 VRAM, and 512GB of internal storage. Connectivity options include support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. The keyboard supports Razer Chroma lighting with a single lighting zone, just like it’s predecessor.

The new Razer Blade Stealth 13 will be available for purchase starting this month with an asking price of $1799.99 for the version with the 120Hz Full HD display. The OLED panel sporting SKU is priced at $1,999.99.
