Internet Archive, a non-profit digital library, has come to the rescue of Flash animations, games, and toys just a few weeks before Adobe ends support for Flash. The organization has announced that it is now preserving these types of Flash content.
The group has added support for Flash to its Emularity system so some Flash content plays in the browser like it used to. This initiative uses Ruffle, a Flash emulator that Internet Archive is currently developing.
More than 1,000 games and animations like Badger, Mario Combat, and Loituma Girl are now available on the organization's collection dedicated to Flash, which allows you to access these old Flash items through its emulator. The experience is almost as if you have a Flash plugin installed in your browser, Internet Archive says.
That said, Ruffle has yet to achieve full compatibility with Flash, but the content that will be preserved will play just as smooth in the browser as before. However, you can view the collection only if your browser supports WebAssembly. These browsers include Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge.
