Intel has released an update for its DCH graphics driver, specifically targeting the integrated GPUs in its processors (not the Irix Xe Max graphics card). The new update brings the driver version to 27.20.100.9126, and it's mostly focused on bug fixes, so it doesn't add support for any new games.
The highlight of the release is that it fixes several bugs relating to Intel's 11th generation Intel Core Processors. There are some other issues fixed with this release, though:
- Lower than average score observed in SPECViewperf 13 benchmark on 11th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® Iris® Xe graphics.
- YouCam Camera Preview & Video Playback may be black on 10th Generation Intel® Core™ processors and higher.
- Sporadically error code may be observed when playing Netflix content on edge browser and hot plugging or unplugging external display on 11th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® Iris® Xe graphics.
- Flash may be observed on 3D Monitor when ‘3D display mode’ is enabled on 11th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® Iris® Xe graphics.
Despite the fixes, there's still a lengthy list of known issues with this release. Among them, some intermittent crashes or hangs may still be experienced in Cyberpunk 2077 when using Iris Xe graphics. Here's the full list of known issues:
- Iris® Xe Graphics: Intermittent crash or hang may be seen in Cyberpunk 2077* (DX12), Hunt: Showdown*, Dark Souls III*, Horizon Zero Dawn* (DX12), Dirt 5* (DX12), Watch Dogs: Legion* (DX12) (when new campaign starts), Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint* (DX11), Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War* (DX12), Halo 3: ODST* (during mission loading), Total War Warhammer 2 (DX12) (on loading campaign mode / benchmark), Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege* (DX11).
- Iris® Xe Graphics: Minor graphic anomalies may be observed in Star Wars Battlefront 2* (DX12), Wolfenstein: Youngblood* (Vulkan), Gears of War Ultimate Edition* (DX12), Far Cry: New Dawn* (when starting from a saved file), Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout*, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint* (DX11), MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries* (DX12), Red Dead Redemption* (DX12), Shadow of the Tomb Raider (with Tessellation ON), Valorant* (at high settings), Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice*, Watch Dogs: Legion* (DX12), Assassin’s Creed Valhalla* (DX12), Hitman 2* (DX12).
- Iris Plus Graphics and higher: Intermittent crash or hang may be seen in Destiny 2* (with anti-cheat enabled), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare* (DX12), Metro Exodus* (DX12) on changing graphics settings.
- Iris Plus Graphics and higher: Minor graphics anomalies may be observed in Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord* (DX11), Yakuza Like a Dragon*.
- Minor Graphic Anomalies may be seen in ARK: Survival Evolved* (DX11) and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare* (DX12) when Image Sharpening enabled in Intel Graphics Command Center on Iris® Xe graphics.
As far as compatibility goes, nothing has changed from the previous releases. PCs running Windows 10 version 1709 - the Fall Creators Update - or newer should be able to install it. It also supports the integrated GPUs in most Intel Core processors from the 6th generation onward, as well as related Xeon, Celeron, and Pentium processors with integrated graphics. If you're looking for drivers for the Iris Xe Max GPU, an update was released a couple of weeks ago for it.
