Dell announces new Alienware m15 and m17 laptops with RTX 30

Today at CES and alongside Nvidia's announcement, Dell is announcing its latest Alienware gaming PCs. Among them are the Alienware m15 and m17, and the big deal is that they come with Nvidia's GeForce 30 series GPUs.

While the CPUs haven't changed - they're still from the Intel Comet Lake H family - the laptops are getting faster memory at 2,933MHz, and they come with up to 4TB of storage. As for cooling, Alienware is boasting its fourth-generation Cryo-Tech technology.

It's also, as it says, "bringing the hertz". On the 17.3-inch m17, you can get it with upto a 360Hz FHD display, while the m15 comes with up to a 300Hz screen. Higher resolutions are available as well, as both come with a 4K 60Hz option; however, just the 15.6-inch one is available in an OLED variant, as vendors still aren't making 17.3-inch OLED panels.

The Alienware m15 and Alienware m17 are set to be available on January 26, and both of them start at $2,149.99. It comes in Lunar Light and Dark Side of the Moon.

And then there's the Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R10, which comes with AMD's new Ryzen 5000 series processors. As you'd expect, you can get it with Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 series graphics, but you can also get it with AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics. In fact, this is the first Dell desktop to use Ryzen 5000 or Radeon RX 6800 XT.

It also supports up to 128GB Dual Channel HyperX FDURY DDR4 RAM, which is double that of previous generations. It comes in Lunar Light and Dark Side of the Moon colors, and it's available today starting at $1,079.99.
