Samsung has launched its latest offering for the Indian market, the Galaxy M02. The device is an entry-level smartphone and sits below the Galaxy M02s in the product range, bringing with it a ₹6,999 (approximately $96) price tag. It features a large 6.5-inch HD+ display and a massive 5,000mAh battery. At launch, the company is selling the device on Amazon.in for ₹6,799 (approximately $93).
The South Korean giant says that the phone aims to bring “never-before features” to users on a budget. The 6.5-inch HD+ Infinity V display houses a 5MP front-facing shooter. The company says that the large display is ideal for “video calls, content streaming, online education and entertainment”. At the back, the phone sports a dual-camera system consisting of a 13MP primary camera and a 2MP macro sensor.
Commenting on the launch, Aditya Babbar, Head of Mobile Marketing for Samsung India, said:

With the launch of Galaxy M02, we are confident that this mega entertainer will further strengthen our positioning in the sub 10K segment[.]”
As for the internals, the phone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek 6739 processor and is available in 2GB and 3GB RAM variants. The phone packs 32GB of internal storage which can be upgraded up to 1TB via a microSD card. It ships with Android 10-based One UI 2 out of the box. The device sports a microUSB port for charging, a dual-sim card slot, and comes in black, blue, red and grey colors.
The Galaxy M02 will go on sale starting February 9 on Samsung’s online store, Amazon, and other retail stores. The device competes against a host of devices from OEMs such as OPPO and Xiaomi in the sub-₹10,000 market and joins the similarly-priced Snapdragon-powered Galaxy M01.
