iTunes should sell music videos

Recommended Posts

iTunes should sell music videos. They're video so they're large, but most are only 3 -5 minute videos so if people downloaded them directly, with broadband, it couldn't be to bad right?

btw, this is just me jabbering on about jargon.

Er... iTunes doesn't play video files though

true, but they could make it so it could. right? or quicktime could open up when they clicked it. the reason i say this is cuz...yeah you're right...but i mean, my stupid fake idea would be that it would be just music videos' since apple's all into the ipod and the digital lifestyle/ digital music and this and that ... u know...i made a stupid fake ad that could probably never be possible but would be cool...what do you all think? sorry i just had to show it off...wanted to see what you all thought of my stupid impossible idea which could not exist with today's technology :p what do you all think

Why would they sell them? They already give them away (well, you can view them at least) for specific artists as it is now.

Guess I don't see the point of it at all... *shrugs*

Music videos are a marketing tool. They are never sold. If you wanna start paying for them, I'm sure they'll take your money, but I'll be happy with getting them freely.

I dont know what Apple is doing.. but this is the kind of thing Windows Media Center Edition is designed for. There are devices Microsoft is working on with other companies called "Portable Media Centers", which can store music, video, and pictures, plans for up to 40 GB worth. The devices are also designed to synchronize with the Media Center edition of Windows, PCs that have this usually have TV input and other features built in; and I think its also designed for digital TV devices.

People are starting to focus on Microsoft's plans to be competitive with Google and aren't realizing they have plans in many different fields.

I guess people will hate it because its Microsoft though

iTMS is to damn addicting, im downloading another $17 worth of music now. ow well maybe dad will not notice it on his creit card bill. my friend came over and is like oo switched to teh dark side have we. its just so much easier. like today, i got an email about new music and it had a link to like make out songs, i read the list seemed cool enough so instead of searching klr for each one i just bought it. not near as much guilt in spending the money as there is in stealing the music

Actually, I find rocks idea very promissing. If they are simply marketing tools, they would be out there in the public for all to see right? But I have yet to see a database of high-quality downloads for them. Unless someone knows of one, that would be sweet. The problem with finding them today is (from what I know of) most people use p2p applications, which results in multiple qualities and formats. It would be nice to just have one standard high quality format available, and yes, I probably would pay for it. After all, I am an Apple user and what kind of Apple user would I be if I cared about money?

I dont think 40GB is enough....I can easily fill up 80GB with recorded TV shows.

umm no you are wrong. Lots of videos are sold these days and have been for a while. I have lots of bands videos on offically released video singles. Madonna has been doing it for a while so has Depeche Mode.

you must be bragging about your ability to record (or download) tv shows, because your argument makes no sense.

First off, those 80gbs worth of TV shows are 22-45 minute shows at a pretty decent resolution i imagine.

A portable device would mainly store 3-5 minute music videos and 1-2 movie trailers and whatnot. In addition to that, the resolution of said videos will be much lower since the screen is smaller.

40GB is plenty for the kinds of video that will be stored on a portable media player.

What an interesting concept. Even though they're starting to sell small media players (Creative is making a sweet one)...why would you want to buy a video that you can get for free on MTV? I mean it's not like it's illegal like using kazaa...am I alone here?
