+BeLGaRaTh Subscriber¹ Posted February 12, 2002 Subscriber¹ Share Posted February 12, 2002 Hi, Hope somebody here can help. I need to find out the firmware version of my CD-Writer (and for that matter also my DVD) in order to flash it. Under Windows 98 it was easy as you just right clicked the drive and it showed you, however under XP I cannot seem to find this option. I have tried right clicking the drive under windows explorer and also from within Device Manager with no joy. Somebody pls help. Thanks in advance :o)
Steven
To Find The Firmware of Any CD Device You Have Installed, Follow These Instructions Start > Run > Type - "ntmsmgr.msc" > Press Enter (No Quotes) This Will Open Up "Computer Management" will the "Removable Storage" Tree Listing. You Will See A Folder Called "Libraries" Press The "+" sign next to it. This Will Display A List Of Your CD Devices On Your Computer. Click On Your CD Device in the List That You Want Information About. Then Right Click The CD Device You Selected And Hit "Properties" A New Window Will Appear, You Will Be On The "General" Tab. Next Click On The "Device Information" Tab to The Right of "General". Towards The Middle Of the "Device Information" Tab You Will See "Revision". This Is The Firmware Version of Your CD Device. Hope This Helps. :)
