French Police Officer Sneaks Up & Takes Down Woman Armed With A Double-Barrel Shotgun

Recommended Posts

That police officer has some balls! Well done to him, who knows how this would have played out in the U.S.?

I can't find any news online about it other than some videos and on Twitter this is the oldest I can find https://trapholizay.com/damn-french-police-officer-sneaks-up-takes-down-woman-armed-with-a-double-barrel-shotgun/

It's amazing how we only get to hear about it if there's a death, but not when police bravery like this happens! And that in a country that is dealing with Jihadi terrorism more than any other western European country.

Police officer : DROP YOUR WEAPON!!!

Gun woman : .....

Honestly. That's what needs to happen. Ask the person holding a deadly weapon to comply about twice and if they don't, then initiate operation "Save the tax payer".

That guy who snuck up on the woman got luckily.

We all know EXACTLY what would have happened in the US... The woman would very quickly have resembled mangled chunks the size of dog food.

Typical yank response.  Yes, she's a threat, but it's clearly because she's very distressed about something rather than a terroristic attack.  Not every situation has to be resolved by turning the individual into kibble.

When you're waiving around a gun, it's clearly meant to instill fear, therefore is terroristic...  Sorry, but if it's a choice between the criminal and the people upholding the law, I choose the police.
The US is a prime example of what happens when excessive sympathy is given to the criminals.  The crime gets worse...

Really?!  Well, considering that the US has the highest violent crime rate in the western world, the highest incarceration rate in the western world, and the most violent prisons in the world...  How is treating them with maximum force working out for ya, hmmm?

Um, it's keeping the problem from being worse...  You're saying that the police's use of guns is what's causing the high rates of crime? In what world does that make any sense?

As I said, when leniency is given to the criminals, the crime gets worse.  That just happened for the whole world to see! Go look at the statistics for the past year...  Go ask NYC how defunding the police worked out for them...

Force begets force.  If one side has a big gun, the other side gets a bigger gun.

Tell that to Norway.

It's not about defunding the police, it never has been.   It's about effective policing, and more importantly, effective and appropriate sentencing.  For example.  American courts send a drug addict to prison where he mingles with hardened criminals and comes out FAR worse then when he went in.  Norway, on the other hand, gives them the option of rehab instead.  If they're no longer an addict, that removes a large element of what caused their criminal behaviour in the first place.

Those are all great ideas, but the problem lies with cultural issues here.  People are given countless opportunities better their lives, but they choose not to.  You can't put a gun to somebody's head and force feed them financial stability and mental health help.  Those things are widely available, but yet a third of our 330 million people can't afford an unplanned minor medical expense.  Very pathetic for a country that's supposed to be a world leader.  Rampant irresponsibility with no incentive to fix it, along with leadership in the crime ridden cities that allow it to get worse.  The police are put in the crappy position to deal with.  They didn't cause this.  No rule change in the world is going to convert the jail population into people that suddenly care.

Norway is a country of contributors, responsible, and healthy people that create a sustainable culture.  A lot of the US is the opposite of that, and with 60x the population, the problems are massively magnified.

So start trying to fix your societal problems instead of just ignoring them.  Things will only get worse and worse, like a festering wound, until you do.

For all we know Astra.Xtreme is a great guy in his community, plus it isn't down to just the one man, even if people believe it starts that way. I think he tried to answer your post respectfully and you assumed he is part of the problem. Just my 2 cents.

Every movement starts with one person who wants to fix things, but I wasn't specifically meaning him, it was a general "you".

Lots of times in the US where people are disarmed without incident.  And it is not amazing acts like this are but heard by deaths are. How the media likes it. Comes down to ratings and what sells and makes the most money to report on. Which is pretty damn sad since it paints a certain group in a way that is not fare or accurate.

And good thing no one got hit when the gun went off. That could have been bad even a ricochet.

Not every situation in the u.s. Ends badly or with the suspect being killed.  Media has people fooled into thinking this since that is what sells and what is reported on the most.
