For those that think UFO's don't exist, how can we possibly be the only sentient species in the entire universe? It's mathematically unsound.

Almost as mathematically unsound as them being able to traverse the vast distances between stars to visit us...

Not according to quantum physics. Even the released UFO files show the unidentified crafts don't use any form of propulsion, and it's completely unsound to believe that a much more technologically advanced species would.

THEORETICAL quantum physics.  Lots of things are possible in theory but impossible in practice.  Take Alcubierr's warp drive.  Possible in theory, but needs an impossible power source...

The one thing I have been very curious about is this object. Polar orbiting wasn't possible back then, but it is now, so why haven't NASA tried to grab this object or get close to it to find out what it is?

...um, because it was not in polar orbit?  It was a thermal blanket that was lost during STS-88 and reentered the earths atmosphere several days later.

...both can be true.  I have absolutely no doubt that there is a lot of intelligent life and multicellular organisms spread throughout the universe.

 

But!  The mind-numbing distances between objects ... no, we have no been visited by any aliens.  I guess they could have visited in the 50s for some grainy, unclear photos ... just interesting they haven't "visited" in the last decade where everyone has a camera in their back pocket.

      So is Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, just to mention a few. What's your point? Everyone is a threat from their enemies' perspective. I'd say that Israel is only a threat to their immediate enemies like Hamas, Hezbollah and the Iranian regime, not to anyone else.

      The government is not the good guy either. You propose 99% of people require that the government overreach and govern their freedom of information and privacy, while ignoring the government is made up 100% of people, of which 99% are (as you described) brain dead.
