LG has announced that it’s updating its true wireless stereo line-up with the introduction of the new 2021 LG TONE Free FP earbuds. The series consists of the FP9, FP8, and FP5 and has been designed for people living a “high-energy” lifestyle. They boast a comfortable in-ear fit, Meridian-tuned sound, active noise cancellation, and a UVnano charging case which comes with two of the three models, boosting hygiene.
Discussing the product, LG said:
“With fit and comfort top priorities for the LG TONE Free lineup, LG collaborated with a leading ergonomic design technology lab to analyze hundreds of subjects’ ears, resulting in Arc Design with an earbud stem 4.4 millimeters shorter than on previous models to create the perfect balance and fit for an active lifestyle. And because the FP series earbuds are IPX4 rated, the earbuds can be worn without worry during hard workout sessions or in the rain.”

The earbuds deliver 10 hours of playback between charges and 24 hours of playback when used in conjunction with the charging case. With quick charging, putting them in their charging case for just five minutes will give you additional battery life for an hour. The earbuds can also be paired with the TONE Free app which offers more capabilities such as an equalizer, Ambient Sound mode, touch control customization, and Find My Earbuds. The app also has a tool called LAB which gives you access to special settings such as Whispering Mode and Game Mode.
LG said that the LG TONE Free FP series will be coming to key markets starting this month. They will be available in several colors including Charcoal Black, Pearl White, and the FP8 and FP9 will also be available in Haze Gold. Prices were not shared in the announcement.
