Dick Montage
Hi I'm streamlining my setup and looking to sell my 2 x LG Ultrawide monitors and buying one single (probably bigger) ultrawide. But I am looking for one with a webcam (a good webcam) built in, and maybe even decent speakers. Does such a monitor exist?
Brandon H Supervisor Posted October 14, 2021 Supervisor Share Posted October 14, 2021 all 3 pieces together is kind of niche right now; especially the webcam piece so if you find a monitor that hits all 3 points it will probably be all that much more expensive for it. I've not seen any modern desktop monitors that have a webcam built in; only really see that on laptops. that's just my personal experience though so there could be some out there. You're better off getting the speakers and webcam separate if I'm being honest. Mindovermaster and Dick Montage 1 1 Share
Mindovermaster Moderator Posted October 14, 2021 Moderator Share Posted October 14, 2021 Yeah, get them separate. You can save a lot of money. There are good webcams that are cheaper then the on-monitor. Why are you getting rid of your 2x LG Ultrawide? Doesn't really make sense..
Brandon H Supervisor Posted October 14, 2021 Supervisor Share Posted October 14, 2021 thinking on it, most built in webcams are lacking in quality anyway due to the limited space in the bezel. Things you lose out on with these are auto focus and ability to easily adjust the angle/direction of the camera among other features of dedicated webcams. this is one of the main reasons you generally only see built in webcams on laptops but not desktop monitors Mindovermaster 1 Share
