Aes
I've been using a 2.6.1 series kernel for the past week or so -- have to say it's decent. Haven't noticed *much* of a speed difference as the 2.4 series were quick too. I do like the integrated ALSA -- makes things *a lot* easier. :-)
kongit
I have noticed that alsa sounds better than windows with sound :) and I have noticed a major speed difference, mostly because I included all modules into the kernel but one when I made the config before compiling. that one I couldn't and is by ethernet driver. :)
