That's bundled.

Haha thats good to know, I did wonder about how I would work my iPod without it!

I'm not going to bother with Office, I don't do enough of that sort of stuff to justify the ?450. I saw someone working on a port of KOffice to OSX so maybe I can look into that.

How easy do you guys think it will be to port my itunes library from my pc to the ibook? I know the m4a's will go easy enough but what about the library data (playcount etc)?

Congratulations on your fine purchase dude. Did you get bluetooth on that mac? if you did i suggest you get Romeo, if you have a bluetooth phone (Sony Ericsson preferred) you can control your mac with your phone..awesome stuff!. About your playlist and all that transferring it to your mac from ur pc....hmm all the library data is store in an .xml file, im not sure if the pc xml file is compatible with mac itunes. I suggest you get VLC for all your Divx, video needs. Thats all i can think of top my head. Once again congrats.

sebaz: thanks for the recomendations - no I didn't get the bluetooth as I already have a dongle and I can't see myself using it that much

sadatkarim: I wanted one too - it took a bit of willpower to get the money together but I did it. You can too!

Probably just copying it over will work, I think they use the same format.

If you want an Office replacement you should try to go to www.openoffice.org, it has most of what office does and it's free and it works with the Mac. I use it in my Ibook and it works great.

Hope this helps and enjoy your iBook.

Hi Guys,

This is my first time here. I've been browsing this site for months but never actally signed up.

I bought myself a 12" PowerBook about 6 months ago. It was my first Mac so I didn't want to spend a ton. I gotta say i'm very impressed with them and I could now call myself a 'skilled' mac user. They are easy to use, quick and most of all, they are damn sexy.

I am looking into getting one of those new 20" iMacs soon as I would like a desktop system.

One thing I will warn new buyers about is to make sure you've seen it working before you buy them. Me and a friend of mine got our identical (in every way) PowerBooks at the same time, from the same place. Mine's worked flawlessly, however my friends came with a dead pixel, over the first 3 months or so the machine itself also bowed (bent) and wobbled. Apple and the place we got them from (Solutions Inc. Hove, UK) were equally unhelpful saying that the national level of dead pixels that have to be met before anything is done is about 5-7 (varied). Eventually he's got Apple to sort out the Bowed problem and is awaiting its return however the screen still remains unresolved to this day.

So make sure it works before you buy one.

Sure, I expect pixels to die over time but not on a brand new machine.

Its just not British!
