Today, Blizzard Entertainment announced that it's working on a new survival game for consoles and PC. The team didn't reveal any further details, but the concept art focuses on a group of individuals that are transported into a mystical realm from a modern city.
Blizzard is currently looking at hiring developers for the project and said the following on its website.
Blizzard is embarking on our next quest. We are going on a journey to a whole new universe, home to a brand-new survival game for PC and console. A place full of heroes we have yet to meet, stories yet to be told, and adventures yet to be lived. A vast realm of possibility, waiting to be explored. Every story needs a teller. And every world needs builders. What if that could be you? ... Do you want to join a collaborative team of experienced developers at the early stage of a new project in a new world...and help ... Blizzard's story?
This project is in its infancy and it may be a few years before we get a glimpse of what the title looks like. The positions that are open indicate that Blizzard has the concept locked, but it searching for visual artists to build the game, for the most part.
It's unclear if the title will be an Xbox and PC exclusive, however. Chances are it will be since it's a new franchise and development has just begun. However, all of this depends on when the Activision Blizzard and Microsoft deal goes through.
