A jpeg can be of literally anything, can you be more specific?  Also, hi!

NFT Art :) Also, hi!

So, profit rather than art then?

For me, it's ALL about the art and love. 1000%

I love supporting unknown emerging artists. The connection a collector and an artist share is indescribable. It's something magical, out of this world.

I only buy paintings that I can admire for the whole eternity.

An NFT isn't art, it's a saleable property attached to art for the sole purpose of profit.  Because apparently having a picture with a blockchain attached to it is more valuable than an identical image without, for some weird reason...

Been collecting since around 1975, and love vintage photos, especially from movies and tv shows from about 1945 to 1975. Have a nice little collection of original 8x10 glossy b&w stills, mostly from obscure/unknown old sci-fi films.

(Haven't been "beautiful" since the 1970s)

The NFT technology has given the artists from around the World an opportunity they otherwise wouldn't have because the "classical arrangements" in this business aren't in their favour [due to certain restrictions].

Without NFT, I would never be able to know about and buy artworks from a Colombian artist, for example, because I would never travel there. Now I actually might go there and meet them. Why? Because of the connection I just spoke.

I assume you mean digital artists.... And they had this "opportunity" long before someone invented NFT's (which, btw, are essentially worthless anyway).  I know several and they had no problem selling their art long before someone decided to glue a blockchain to a jpeg.  Hell, I've even commissioned several custom pieces.

That's cool. Thank you for sharing :)

I should clarify my previous post, to add that I collect JPEGs as well, of old films and some tv shows (if I can't obtain or afford physical still photos I want, such as 8x10s, etc.). 🤓

eBay is my friend/enemy! 😱 I've only won two auctions there. 🤑

I checked out that site, and had to fight the urge to order stuff! My small collection of sci-fi toys/models thanks you. 😉
