None documented safari feature?

Recommended Posts

Whoa, I was typing an IM, and accidently clicked on the wrong window, a safari window.

As I was typing, safari was searching for what I typed in.

This is a sweet feature, if you are using safari now, just type in neomayhem really fast or something and it will search for my name and highlight it on this page.

I am using 1.2, I never noticed this before :p

I am not getting the same result. Is there any specific place I have to type in?

No, just make sure you have the main window selected and not the address bar or something.

I think that this is something added by Saft 5, even though I dont see it mentioned on that site anywhere.

Mac15 told me that this is a feature called mozillatypeahead in mozilla, so other browsers might do it to.

I really like this though, very useful :p

Yup, TypeAhead has been in Firebird since it was Phoenix... And it is definitely useful in those long documents. Say, does Saf TypeAhead search only for links, or can you also make it search for plaintext by typing a "/" before you enter the term?

yeah... what it does is searches through links in the current window. You don't need to type it fast or anything. In Firefox .8 you see the words get highlighted, and when you press enter, it just 'clicks' the selected link
