How Do I Do This - Please Help>>!

Recommended Posts

I am running Windows XP Pro with 2 Users - both admin (myself and my wife). I get them whim here or there to do a clean install. I have all my proggies and such (docs, tunes, etc...) on a separate drive and the clean installs do not hamper me at all. BUT, my wife plays (and invests alot of time) the Sims and she loses all her User data. The last time I did a clean install I copied her user directory to my drive and after I reinstalled the Sims I copied it back - worked fine. What I am wondering though is how to set up an automatic backup of her user file daily to my drive - and this is the key - w/o her intervention. I want it to happen without her having to mess with it. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

have you tried using a backup program like goback or something?

or just choosing a different drive when you install the sims instead of the C one so whatever happens will always get saved on that other drive?

well, i have windows installed on C, and that is where the SIMS is installed as well. My wife's profile is also on C. BUT, my stuff is on my other (40GB Maxtor) drive, and I kinda wanna keep her out of that stuff (if ya know what i mean?).

I am just looking for a way to have like a batch file or something that does this. If I show her how to back it up, she'll either forget or f*** it up. I am not very good with running batch files, but I thought this might be an alternative.

im not real good with batch files either but it seems doable

you could install the sims on your drive

and just have a shortcut to the game on the desktop so she wont have to be bothered with going through your drive just to get to the game....and it'd automatically save there since its installed there ya know?
