Mertsch Share Posted September 8, 2001 HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE followin If you have serious Problems installing Live!Ware 3.0 for win2k ........ easy solution selecting quadro speeaker or surround in WinXP is good but not the real solution .......... 1. DL Live!Ware for win 2k 2. make sure that you don't have ****ed up your sounddriver already if yes .... goto safe mode and roll-back driver or even remove the LIVE device ...... 3. Start Setup in normal mode (2. IS HIGHLY REQUIRED !!!) 4. let the setup extract all files ......... 5. now the "real" live!ware setup starts ... DO NOTHIN 6. now search your temp dictory for "devldr32.exe" !!!!! you should find 2 things goto directory with the "32"-file .......... 7. search your winXP folder for the same "devldr32.exe" 8. copy the "devldr32.exe" from Winxp to the Live!Ware temp folder 9. continue with setup .......................................... 10% .... 50% ..... 100% 10. restart ... now alll features should work !!! (so it does on my comp !!!!) 11. do test restart .... and worked ??? (it should:) ) 12. THX Mertsch :D

Malechai Veteran Share Posted September 8, 2001 i dont know what the big deal is to download Liveware right now anyway? sure you're missing some functionality, but retail XP isn't even out yet. Yes, RTM is but you can't go buy it at a store. My point is, I'm sure (or maybe I should say I HOPE) that Creative will update LiveWare to work in XP without hassle.
handyman Share Posted September 8, 2001 Once you get the latest drivers from Windows Update, YOu will now have sound 1) Open up the volume icon that is located in the taskbar. At this point you will SEe Volume , midi, and some other stuff. 2) go to file in the volume box and choose advance 3) Click Advance. Then Click Digital Output signal. Ta da Sound :-)
Roger H. Veteran Share Posted September 9, 2001 i have the SB Live DE 5.1 and I get no probs at all using XP. I get full 5.1 sound and who cares about liveware. what does it do anyways? I've never installed it and prolly never will. i got a SB Live card cuz it has 5.1 sound and digital I/O. I get that so what am I missing?
Mertsch Author Share Posted September 9, 2001 You are right ..... I wouldn't have installed Live!Ware either but I had to ..... so apps/gamez always modified the WinXP intern speaker setting (in my situation quadro speakers) to the normal 2 speakers and that is really anoying .... 2. winamp was the only Program that doesn't use 4 speakers and that was F.U.C.K. too because windows Media Player sucks (winamp has much more features And DOESN'T use 10 or more percent CPU usage ) thats why to install Live!Ware oh and I hate all things in Live!Ware xspect the surround mixer ;)
configure Veteran Share Posted September 9, 2001 Mertsch, I'm just wondering, instead of starting a new thread, why don't you reply to the thread that were discussing this earlier? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember seeing someone having a problem that you have a solution on and they put up a thread for that. Just curious..
MytMowse Share Posted September 9, 2001 How can you NOT use liveware, it's what makes sblive own. IT makes everything sound better if you use the liveware software. If not use you just using sb16emu which is sad. use your 256 voices! :D 16 or 256 hmm?
Mertsch Author Share Posted September 10, 2001 Right ... configure I did this to show ppl. with that probs ... HERE is the solution ....... there are thousands of senseless discussions about such problems ... but no one really knows answeres ..... but here is one which really helps to get rid of a really anoying and f.u.c.k.ing problem ....... so if i would go trough this forum ... (still having problem installing Live!Ware) I wouldn't look in every post concerning SB Live .... this would take hours ..... but see SOLUTION sounds good ?!?!?!?!?!?! glix81 Share Posted September 10, 2001 Hey I haven't tried the devldr thingy yet and Im glad I haven't. It seems on my comp that WMP plays my songs on all 4 speakers like you all said. The question is, will the new winamp, the one in alpha or beta, support the 4 speakers. I have yet to find it again, so can anyone tell me? BTW according to dxdiag XP has newer drivers then my ones in 98. Maybe there are new drivers just, bad ones.
Tikimotel Share Posted September 10, 2001 who uses liveware anyway, consumes a lot of resources (memory)
