David123987
I was thinking about trying hoverdesk on my XP. Any comments or opinions would be appreciated, good or bad.
KenLin
Personally, I like DesktopX better for desktop customization. I think it is a better program with endless possibilities. Hoverdesk does have one huge advantage, though. Artists. When looking for a good DesktopX theme, you have to wade through piles of crap that hacks, like myself, have created. Hoverdesk, on the other hand, was around first and has the support of some awesome artists, like Dangeruss, Alexandrie, and treetog.

Frogboy Administrators Posted February 13, 2002 Administrators Share Posted February 13, 2002 I like Hoverdesk. It has a lot of very good themes for it and comes bundled with a lot of plugins. Other programs in that genre include: Talisman (2.2 just came out) DesktopX (www.desktopx.net) and ObjectBar 1.0 just came out today (www.stardock.com/products/objectbar). Note: I work for Stardock and am not affiliated with Hoverdesk. I just happen to like it. ;)
profbobo
I thought hoverdesk was pretty buggy ... when I was using the Unlimited (?) theme from deskmod, it sporadically lost all the text on the menus ... then crashed, and hosed explorer.exe as an added bonus :) Maybe it's just me, but it seemed overly "style over substance," too, but that's a personal thing :)
David123987
Thank you all for your reply's. I've just been a little worried about adding new software to XP. Bad experience with one older program and I ended up reinstalling everything.:lick:
