priesh
Hi - I d/l a customised ntoskrnl.exe from here, booted into safe mode and replaced the ntoskrnl.exe in c:windowssystem32 with the one i had d/l. When i restarted it still came up with the original boot screen, so when i got into windows i checked the replaced file in c:windowssystem32 and it was the edited version, so why does it still show the orignal boot screen during startup?? Cheers Priesh N.B - the only other ntoskrnl.exe on the c: drive is in a driver.cab file - but i dont think this affects it??
samo123_uk
First enable windows to view extensions. Then find the ntoskrnl.exe (origanal) rename it to say ntoskrnl.bak and copy it to a safe folder. Then copy other the new boot screen. It should work then , this is how i do it. ^all in safe mode , of course.

priesh
Samo - that is what i did, in safe mode of course, and i checked the new file with reshacker to make sure it was the new file and it was the new file , but it still doesnt work. Jayp6969 - yes it was one of your boot screens - i d/l the amd one and the 3dfx one, tried both of them (tried 3dfx one first, when that didnt work i changed it to the amd one, but this didnt work either) with the same result. Thanks for your help - any other suggestion on how i get this to work? Priesh
