(i already have a pc, cable modem, and linksys wireless router broadcasting internet to my pc # 2 and pc laptop) 3) is it fast? just as fast as my cable modem? 4) do i need the basestation? thnx in advance ;) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

SFNE Freak Posted February 20, 2004 Share Posted February 20, 2004 You don't have an option as far as cards go. You need to buy an Airport Extreme cards. The two cards are very different in shape and not interchangable. Airport Extreme cards WILL work with 802.11b routers, it'll just throttle down to 11mb/s instead of 54mb/s.
