Tim Dorr Veteran Posted February 14, 2002 Veteran Share Posted February 14, 2002 Mozilla :D It's got pop-up blocking built-in (it actually just stops unrequested windows, which is good for the ones that you want to keep), it's got tabbed browsing, and it's a better rendering engine for pages (although, most crap is IE specific, so you have to deal. However, 99.9999% of the time, I can just stay in moz fine)

Speed_NYC
I love Naviscope: Naviscope achieves acceleration through five advanced techniques: prefetching, DNS resolution caching, persistent connections, MTU/RWIN optimizations and advertisement blocking. In addition to blocking ads, Naviscope can also block cookies, backgrounds, blinking text, Javascript, and sounds. Furthermore, Naviscope has a popular SiteMapper that allows you to navigate a web page before your browser even displays it. Naviscope shows Web activity as you browse, in a display that allows you to perform Internet diagnostics, obtain Website registration information, and even stop individual objects from loading. While you browse, Naviscope can keep your computer clock adjusted to the NIST atomic clock and shows you how fast your Internet connection really is. Advanced users find our HTTP monitor useful, as well as the complete logging and analysis capabilities we provide. A fully configurable toolbar puts all of these, and many other features, within easy reach. Best of all, as a limited time offer, Naviscope is completely FREE! http://www.naviscope.com/ My 2 cents! mimeryme
Speed_NYC, I used to use Naviscope well until they stopped further development. I thought it to be the best blocker along w/ all the features you mention. I decided to change though when it didn't block most of the new ads out there. I never did bother to look deep into the config of the prog though. :ermm: Currently I use Proxomitron (http://proxomitron.cjb.net), it does a whole lot of things: adBlock, popUpKill, freezeGIF, and headerFilters. More things depending on which features you have on, plus other users provide filters that you can merge to it. I do find it annoying and not as hands free as Naviscope though. I would love to use Naviscope again, only if it were updated. If you've any tips using Naviscope, pass it along. Proxomitron blocks all javascript popups, even if the sites need em. Bypassing is tedious. :lick:

Gott
Originally posted by sedative without a doubt, Meaya popup filter http://meaya.com That?s what I once thought, too. But when Meaya?s Popup Filter even blocked popups from Windows Messenger Windows and blocked some popups from whitelist pages i kicked it.
