you deleted the /boot-partition or deleted the /boot-directory?

no big deal at all. fire up your machine with the livecd and create a new partition/directory. then mount your partitions like you would when newly setting up a gentoo (if you deleted the partition, don't mount that one!). next thing is you chroot into your old main partition (or you mount all remaining partition according to your partitioning system). make sure the correct entry is in /etc/fstab for the boot-partition (if it is a partition and no directory) and emerge grub. then cd into /usr/src/linux

cp System.map /boot

cp arch/i386/boot/bzImage /boot

edit /boot/grub/grub.conf to your needs, then fire up the grub installation as usual (like described in the installation instructions on gentoo.org)

now everything should be back to normal.

I think I just saw a 13 post noob help out a 1700 post Gentoo user.....   :woot:

IF i really helped out (no proof of that yet), it has been a delight for me to help. thus said, i might add that i'm a hardcore gentoo user (and always using the ~x86... don't know why, i can't force myself into not using it in every single install) and only new to this forums as a link on forums.gentoo.org pointed me here for the win2000-code-leak news. found the forums nice and so i stay.

1 post dosent mean he is a n00b

it does mean he is a noob here, but that is realy irrelevent to the more technical forums here.

And you don't even need a boot partition, it is just safer. Do like bladerunner said and you should have no problem.
