couple of panther questions

Recommended Posts

1.) You should've had an iPod icon by default.

2.) You cannot have a profile in iChat (stupid, I know), but you can view them by right clicking a buddy on your list and selecting Get Info, and selecting their name from the drop-down in the resulting box.

I'm guessing just to reinstall your firmware on the iPod. It should be fine after that. Or if somebody can provide the iPod icon, then you could just add it that way.

2) can i write/read profiles in ichat, similar to aim?

Sortof, but you have to use AIM to make the profile. AIM on mac is pretty crappy, much like the windows version. Adium is what you want to use unless you need the AV features of iChat.

k thnx, now wats with the avalible away messages in ichat? can ppl with windows aim see them? or what are they even for? either ur here or not... ?

You can just put custom, fun messages there if you feel like it. I'm not sure if people with AIM can see them. I think only iChat users. That Available thing can be used with software like iChatStatus to show different things.

Adium should start supporting file transfers really soon, 2.0 is still an alpha release.

Yea, I know, but not right now, and that's what matters.
